| During the summer months of 2002, there were numerous fires in the Southern California area. Mount Laguna had its share of close calls, the closest being the fire known as the Julian fire. During the month of August, we had a fire that was extinquished in one day due to the gallant efforts of the CDF and the Laguna Mountain Volunteer fire department. This location is just a few short miles from beautiful forest land and housing. While photographing this shot near mile marker 30 on Sunrise Hwy, I could still feel the heat coming off the rocks and land. This picture was taken the day after the actual fire. | |||||||||||||||
