  • Features: Mt. Laguna’s largest campground sits at 6000 feet above sea level. Burnt Rancheria will open on May 19, 2006 with upgraded facilities: more flush toilets, showers, new campsites, longer spurs, renovated amphitheater and more accessible sites. Burnt Rancheria is a favorite camping spot and has just completed phase II of renovation. Sites are in a forested area of pines and oaks and positioned to give maximum privacy. Popular campfire programs are offered during the summer months.
  • Location: 40 miles east of San Diego on Interstate 8, then 9.4 miles N on Sunrise Hwy (S1)
  • Sites: 111 sites with fire rings and tables (50 of these sites are on a first come,first serve basis while the rest can be reserved).
    40 sites have paved spurs between 20 ft - 29 ft; designed for tent camping and 2 vehicles with a tent
    25 sites have paved spurs between 30 ft - 39 ft
    24 sites have paved spurs between 40 ft - 49 ft
    22 sites are longer than 50 ft. Two are host sites, and 6 are accessible sites.
  • Facilities: Multiple flush toilets. Showers. Piped-in water is available at locations throughout the campground. Firewood can be purchased from camp host.
  • Hook-ups: no
  • Sanitary dump: no (closest is Buckman Springs Rest Area, 4 mi E of Pine Valley on I-8)

    50 sites are on a first come, first serve basis
  • Fee: $17.00 for individual family sites (8 people or less); maximum stay is 14 days

  • Pets: dogs OK if leashed (6 ft); confined at night
  • Activities: Campfire programs, childrens' activities and guided hikes during the summer months. Check our calendar of events for upcoming activities. Access to Pacific Crest Trail and Desert View self-guided interpretive trail (get a brochure from camp host).
